In a thrilling display of innovation and engineering, more than 30 students from HSPA, Cessnock High, Mount View High, St Philips Christian College, and Rutherford Technology came together for the F1 in Schools Hunter Regional Competition. Held at HSPA, the event showcased the impressive results of student designed, 3D-printed F1 cars, which students raced on a 20-metre-long track.
Participants in the competition used engineering software to create their vehicles, meticulously testing for aerodynamics, and powering them with CO2 canisters. With a rigorous marking criteria in place, the event highlighted the students’ skills in engineering and design, underscoring the region’s commitment to fostering STEM education through hands-on, competitive experiences.
RDA Hunter has a long history of supporting the F1 in Schools Regional Finals, connecting Defence Industry representatives to participate in the Finals as mentors and scrutineers. The program provides a great opportunity for students to learn about education and Defence Industry career pathways.
