Skilled Workforce Initiative
RDA Hunter’s Skilled Workforce Initiative launched in 2009 with the pilot of the Hunter’s first Advanced Manufacturing Schools Pathway Program, the ME Program. The purpose of the initiative is to meet the needs of future and current demands of industry, enhancing the pool of young people engaged in STEM education
Partnering with Ampcontrol, Forgacs, Varley Group, BAE Systems, 6 schools undertook a series of work placements, site tours, career information sessions and the professional development of teachers.
With the growth of industry and school partnerships opened the opportunity to diversify the delivery of STEM interventions. Build ME a Future, F1 in Schools, Robocup, and the STEM Defence + Innovation Challenge introduced practical, hands on STEM activities that incorporated mentorship from Defence Industry.
RDA Hunter’s deep understanding of industry relevant, curriculum aligned initiatives is fundamental to the success of the Skilled Workforce Initiative.
The success of the ME Program has positioned RDA Hunter at the forefront of industry collaboration to craft and deliver STEM related skilled workforce initiatives.
