August saw students from St Philip’s Christian College (Waratah) showcase their National Champion competition submarine at the 2024 Hunter Defence Conference, held at Rydge’s Resort in the Hunter Valley.
Representing both the 2024 championship team, Oceanus Systems, and the new 2024/25 team Aurora Systems, students demonstrated the exceptional STEM skills fostered in Hunter schools.
RDA Hunter supported Oceanus Systems to showcase at the conference, introducing students to numerous Defence Industry representatives. Their ability to engage with top delegates from the Australian Defence Force and regional Defence Industry, and address technical questions with confidence, highlighted the region’s strong emphasis on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education.
